"Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble; You will prepare their heart, You will cause Your ear to hear." Psalm 10:17
"You, Lord, are so ready and willing to hear, that before Your people
cry unto You, You have already discerned the desires of their hearts."
The prophet Isaiah touches upon the same truth, "It shall come to pass,
that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I
will hear."
These words not only command us to hope when we pray but encourage us to pray when we have no such desire.
These words may not stir the confident, satisfied soul but will sustain the soul that is burdened and needy.
These promises are above our understanding and feeling; they must be
spoken of and understood by faith alone. This psalm is a true school of
faith and of the spirit.
He who reads it without faith is neither warned nor enlightened. But
faith lives in trials and tribulations; the sharper these are, the more
brightly faith shines.
Prayer
Help us, O God, to receive the fulfillment of all our requests. Let
us not doubt that You have heard and will hear them; that the answer is
certain, not negative or doubtful. So may we say cheerfully that the
outcome is true and certain.
Amen
