Give Thanks to the LORD

Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good, for His lovingkindness is everlasting. Psalm 107:1

Give thanks to the LORD. "Oh give thanks to the LORD, call upon His name; make known His deeds among the peoples. Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; speak of all His wonders.

Glory in His holy name; let the heart of those who seek the LORD be glad. Seek the LORD and His strength; seek His face continually.

Remember His wonderful deeds which He has done, His marvels and the judgments from His mouth." 1 Chronicles 16:8-12

He is good. "Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name. For the LORD is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting and His faithfulness to all generations. Psalm 100:4,5

"For You, LORD, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in lovingkindness to all who call upon you." Psalm 86:5

His lovingkindness is everlasting. The psalmists linked the LORD's lovingkindness to His compassion. "Answer me, O LORD, for Your lovingkindness is good; according to the greatness of Your compassion, turn to me, and do not hide Your face from Your servant, for I am in distress; answer me quickly." Psalm 69:16,17

"Help me, O LORD my God; save me according to Your lovingkindness."

How does this truth comfort me?

The LORD, my God, is good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in lovingkindness. His faithfulness and lovingkindness will never change - they are everlasting. God will do what He says -- in the universe, and in my life. I can seek Him and glory in His name with joy and confidence.
