Affirmations

Many Christians struggle with faulty thought processes. They think and act as children of this world, rather than as children of God the Father Almighty. Someone has described this as "stinkin thinkin."

As a follower of the Lord Jesus, I may have beliefs about myself and others that hinder strong spiritual growth. The corrupt "software" of my brain has controlled my thoughts and actions for many years. My brain must be "re-programmed" to think and act according to God's Truth. My beliefs about myself and others must change. My brain's software can be "re-programmed" as I speak affirmations of who I am in Christ and how I must live as a member of God's family. Within 90 days of speaking affirmations, I can give myself positive options regarding what I will believe and how I will act.

An affirmation is a present, positive statement that is spoken out loud daily while in a relaxed state. This is done daily for at least 90 days. The relaxed state allows the new "software" to be placed into the core belief system. This is important because my core beliefs determine whether I act as a child of this world or as a child of God the Father Almighty.

Affirmations

Jesus Has Set Me Free

"Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives." Hebrews 2:14,15

He Saved Me According to His Mercy

"But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,

whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life." Titus 3:4-7

God our Savior. God the Father showed His kindness and His love for me, and saved me according to His mercy.

Jesus Christ our Savior. God the Father saved me by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon me richly through Jesus Christ my Savior.

Notice that Paul uses the same title for God the Father and for Jesus Christ.

An Heir of God. I have been justified by His grace so that I have been made an heir of God according to the hope of eternal life.

I Will Suffer for the Gospel

"Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord or of me His prisoner, but join with me in suffering for the gospel according to the power of God." 2 Timothy 1:8

God Has Saved Me and Called Me

God "has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity." 2 Timothy 1:9
